Bookkeeping/Assistant Accountant

You will be working with MYOB and QUICKBOOKS to gain experience in

  • Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
  • Credit Card Processing/ Reconciliation
  • Bank Transaction Processing/ Reconciliation
  • Prepayment Schedule/ Journal
  • Fixed Asset register/ Journal
  • Cash/ Accrual method
    • Using ATO portal (introduction)
    • SAP or SASU (if available)
    • Cost Centre Analysis
    • P&L Analysis
    • General Ledger Reconciliation
    • MS Excel, MS Outlook,
    • SAP or SASU¬† Exposure
    • Linking SAP with Outlook

You will also be gaining experience and develop employability attributes such as teamwork, leadership, value fit, communication/ interpersonal skills and industry knowledge.

Up on completion of this level you will be able to apply for positions of Assistant Accountant Reporting to the Financial Controller and Management Accountant in SMEs.

 According to SEEK.COM, general requirements for Assistant Accountants are:

  • Experience in working for a firm of chartered accountants
  • You must have commenced either your CA or CPA studies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting
  • Accuracy in all work and high attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in MS office, especially Word, Excel, SAP, ERP systems and;
  • A willingness and desire to learn
